This two-week study tour is a great chance to visit one of the best geological cities in the world. Muscat is the city where the neighbourhoods are separated by geological outcrops.
Don’t expect to spend the whole two weeks behind classroom walls! There will be visits to geological and historical sites around Muscat and southwest Oman, where you will have a chance to enjoy the beauty of the most distinctive geological/touristic phenomenon, the Hajar Mountain Range, the Arabian Peninsula’s most south-easterly point, which overlooks the Indian Ocean. Also we will visit its highest point in the Jabal al Akhdar region which reaches 3000 meters.
In this program students will experience Omani culture and make personal and professional contacts with local students from Sultan Qaboos University. Developed by the Australian School of Petroleum, this program is an opportunity for students to enter an international network of Petroleum industry and geosciences. So be ready for some new cultural experiences and surprises, this tour will not only be a valuable learning experience but it also promises a huge amount of fun!
PS: We advise you to bring your swimming clothing.
This program will run from 8 April to 20 April, 2017.
