Exchange application process
Are you hoping to go on exchange to this institution?
When you apply for exchange, you apply to our Outbound Exchange Program and provide us with three university preferences so we know where you’d like to go.
After the deadline, we’ll assess your application and offer you the university that’s the best fit for you. If you’d like to know more about how this process works, view the Exchange page on our website.
Make sure you’ve got three universities in mind that you’d be happy to attend before you start your application (and that meet the Preference Guidelines) – then let us know what they are, in order, in the ‘Preferences and Credit’ questionnaire you’ll find in your application checklist.

- Make sure you have checked that it’s possible to go to this institution for your preferred term and duration by checking the Program Terms list, above.
- Check the Exchange Place Availability indicator, above, to see if there are places available for your preferred institutions – restrictions apply to your selections and can be found in the Preference Guidelines.
- You should commence your application at least three weeks before the application deadline to allow your Faculty enough time to provide a pre-approval for your program. You will be able to view deadlines on the Outbound Exchange Program application page when you click the button below.
