ASP Study Tour - Vietnam

Applications have closed for this program. The details listed below are for information only and may be subject to change in 2020. Applications for the Winter School 2020 intake of this program are expected to open in February 2020. 

With the support of the Australian Government's New Colombo Plan, Australian School of Petroleum has organised a study tour program for 20 students to Vietnam in 2019. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, will host this two week study tour. Morning lectures will run on weekdays, followed by cultural activities.

Dates

Subject to applications, this program will be running in Winter School 2019: 8 July 2019 to 19 July 2019 
 
Additional pre-departure information will be provided to students closer to the departure date.
 


Program Fee
 
Program fee for this study tour is AU$1,674.

The program fee includes cultural visits, some meals and staffing. Follow the link to the program fee cost breakdown.
 
Additional costs to be borne by participants:
  • International flights
  • Dinners (other than farewell dinner banquet)
  • Public/internal transport
  • Additional refreshments
  • Visa fees (if required) 

*Students must enrol in the PETROENG 4037 course. Course tuition fees do apply in addition to the study tour program fee listed above.



Financial Assistance:

Thanks to the New Colombo Plan, 20 eligible students will receive AU$3,000 to subsidise this program. Please visit the Study Overseas website for New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant Eligibility requirements. 
 
Eligible students may also access up to AU$8,149 from an OS-HELP loan.

Comprehensive travel insurance is provided free of charge by the University of Adelaide for students receiving credit for this program.

Please note that students may need to pay the program fee, international flights and accommodation costs up-front, before financial assistance is processed by the University. Please review the Study Overseas website to check your eligibility to receive financial assistance. 



Eligibility

Students must be eligible for a New Colombo Plan grant to participate in this program, please review eligibility criteria here

This course is open to fourth year undergraduate students in petroleum engineering.

Assumed knowledge:

 
  • PETROENG 2010 Drilling Engineering 
  • PETROENG 3025 Reservoir Engineering
  • PETROENG 2009 Formation Evaluation Petrophysics & Rock Properties
 
The tour is limited to 20 students.



Academic Credit

Once selected for the program, students must enrol in
PETROENG 4037.

Please note that the usual tuition fees still apply for the enrolled course, in addition to the program fee listed above.

Students selected for this program will receive 3 units of credit.
